The Green Arte School was started in 2021 by Herbalist Josh Williams. What began as a weekly offering of free community classes on YouTube evolved into a unique catalogue of classes and courses centering modern Wortcunning, spiritual herbalism, occult botany, herb magic, and the animist ways of the Indo-European worlds. Josh has taught full programs in Wortcunning and Spiritual Herbalism both in-person and online since 2018.

Our goal is to connect modern seekers to the ancient plant wisdom shared by our herbwise ancestors in a way that speaks to who we are now. We are so fortunate to have extant traditions, perspectives, stories, and rituals that have survived time, war, and conversions; and many herbal texts which bring us wisdom from well over 1,000 years back.

Herbal medicine rooted in the animist, nature-based, spiritual perspectives of our ancestors is more important now than ever before- and as we hold the ancient ways of green wisdom in one hand we seek to serve our communities here and now with the other.

Our classes are crafted to be exceptional in depth while also being accessible, inspiring, and transformative.
